Swoop over the flinty blue surface of Mexico's Sea of Cortez. Through the
scratched plastic windows of a Cessna 182, count migrating fin whales below
as they break the surface to breathe.

Awaken to the hooting of howler monkeys in Belize. Or the brush of an
elephant's hide on your canvas tent In Kenya's Masai Mara,

Prowl Dakar’s nightclubs for spirited rhythms; spend Carnival night with
passed-out revelers on the cold marble floors of the Venice train station.

Hike orchid-laden paths in Ecuador’s cloud forest. Hobnob with Huli wigmen
in Papua New Guinea, grab a mambo with Desi Arnaz. Feel kindred spirit with
Dominican devil-masked dancers, and South African surf-loving cows.

Be lucky enough to witness the Green Flash.

Having treasured these moments and more, Ericka Hamburg combines visual
thinking, voracious curiosity, and an uncommon take on the world into writing
and photography. A graduate of New York's Cooper Union, she’s made homes
in Northern California, South Florida, and Brooklyn, and worked in travel,
music, and communications.

Her visual storytelling has appeared in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel,
Toronto Star, Los Angeles Times, Budget Travel,
Africa Geographic, Popular Photography & Digital Imaging,
GoNomad, and Georgia Strait.
